This 4'x6' Episcopal flag is fully sewn with applique and embroidered components on our commercial quality 200 denier nylon fabric. Finished with a polehem sleeve and leather tabs for easy attachment to your indoor/parade style flagpole. This 4'x6' indoor flag is an ideal size for a 9' indoor flagpole.

The Episcopal flag was adopted on October 16th, 1940 by the House of Bishops and the House of Deputies. It was designed by William M. Baldwin who was a member of the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Long Island, New York.

The white field represents the purity of the Christian religion. The red cross represents the sacrifice of Jesus and the blood of the martyrs. The red cross on a white field is the cross of Saint George, the patron saint of England, which indicates the descent from the Church of England. The Madonna blue canton field is the light blue of the sky often used by artists for the clothing of the Blessed Virgin which represents the human nature of the Lord which was received from his mother. The nine white crosslets on the blue field represent the nine original dioceses of the Episcopal Church in the United States in 1789. These crosslets are arranged in the form of the St. Andrew’s Cross to commemorate the fact that the first American bishop, Samuel Seabury, was consecrated in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1784. The red, white, and blue colors represent the United States and stand for the American branch of the Anglican Communion.
